Potential surprises accompany the duel Netherlands counter the Czech Republic in the round of 16 Euro 2020. Der Oranje is not automatically a seed in this match.

The Dutch-Czech match will take place at the Ferenc Puskas Stadium, Sunday (27/6) at 9:30 p.m. Indian time. This is the 12th meeting between the two teams in all competitions.

The Netherlands, which is the winner of Group C, is indeed more favored to advance to the quarter-finals. Frank de Boer's team performed well by sweeping three matches in the group stage with a win.

Even so, the strength of the Netherlands has not really been tested. The competition in Group C which is occupied by the Windmill Country is relatively light because it only competes with teams such as North Macedonia, Austria, and Ukraine.

Meanwhile, the Czechs only had the best third place to qualify for the round of 16. But they won it after fierce competition with England and Croatia.

In addition, the Czechs have a fairly classy record when they meet the Netherlands. Of the eleven games, they won five times, drew three, and lost three.

One of the Czech victories over the Netherlands occurred in the finals of the 2004 European Cup. The record was certainly an additional motivation for Patrik Schick and his friends to repeat it.
